Can I drop my spouse from the application?

Hi,

I have applied for canadian PR with my spouse,got my medical requests.However now she says she does not wanna make it to canada and refuses to take the medical test.I was wondering if it would be feasible to drop her from this application now?

You don't have much of a choice, if she won't take the medical, then they won't issue either of you a visa. So contact the office processing the application for guidance. I hope your don't require her adaptability points.

You need to get in touch with your visa immediately and inform of the latest development. Before that explain to your wife that she needs to be examined in order for her to get a visa later on to Canada. If she gives up her right to be examined medically she will never get a visa at a later date.
Do you have children ? And what will be your marital status when you leave to Canada, if you get your PR Visa ?

My fear is that you might have to got back to the queue, meaning starting all over again, what was her view about your relocation plan initially, if you have child(ren) who take the costodian of them.

Summarily, dropping her will definately have negative impact on your application. Does it mean that you guys will be separated or divorced?

Her refusal to undergo the medical test will be seen as either she has a disease that will make her, and by extension, you to be inadmissible or you guys are no longer a couple which means you have to show your divorce papers. The latter will then mean your application will take longer as this will call for another round of review by CIC. The only way out is to make her understand the situation so you can forge ahead. I wish you all the luck you need now.

If your wife is free of any disease that can warrant rejection let her do the test, just be more passuasive. She can do it, land in Canada and live immediately. But if she refuses vehemently at this stage then you are in for it. You too should look into her reasons for not willing to do it she may have a strong point that your explanation will solve.

I guess you need to talk to your spouse. Canada Immigration respect family as an institution. They gonna ask you what happen to your spouse, if you have children, what happen to them? I guess her decision might have negetive effect on your application.

I want to ask how long have you guys been married?, and do you have child(ren) {the question you did answer before}, I believe in other members advised that you should persuade her, since she can land and leave canada almost immediately and if after the persuasion she stil refuse to take the medical, it means that she will never be grant visitor visa when you eventually landed in Canada and this will definately put strain in your supposed marriage.

Another point of view is you should forget about the plan of relocation since the two of you cant reach a compromise, I believe family comes first in anything we do as such you stay where you are and carry on with live., or are you ready to stake her (your marriage) for the relocation plan?
