hello everyone, could you please give me some advices?:)

I want to study a 2-year college diploma in Canada, but since I am already 34 years old, have a bachelor degree in my home country and my intended major is not related to my background, I may have a high risk of visa rejection.

Can I apply for a 1-year graduate certificate program and a 2-year college diploma program at the same college which will start at the same time, then pay tuition and GIC with the 1-year program offer and apply for a study permit, then after entering Canada, register for the 2 year college diploma instead?

I would like to ask two questions about the approach:

1.:) Is it possible for me to communicate directly with the college at the program application stage that my reason for doing this is to avoid visa rejection, and tell them that I will be transferring to the 2-year program upon arrival. Is it possible for the college to agree to offer me two admissions at the same time? (The reason I want to communicate directly is so that the college does not lose out on the estimated size of the intake, or take away from other candidates' opportunities)

2. :)If I only apply for the college diploma program and use it to apply for a study permit, is it possible to get it if I am an older-age interdisciplinary student and study backwards? (Provided I have a good enough study plan)

Sorry the questions may be a bit complicated……
I will be really grateful if you guys can give me some advices:)

Thanks!

Is it possible to apply for both? Sure it's possible. Will they let you do it? Probably not.

Can you switch programs in the same DLI, yes
