Hello, I am an international student who has been attending a university in ontario for my masters in economics
I have paid my tuition and been attending classes and doing my work from my home country. I plan to get into canada on the 6th of december as i finally got my visa
My current school’s exam is on the 9th and i plan to finish it all

Although, i wish to change my DLI to a school in montreal with the same program at the same masters level. Is it possible (and legal) to do so after i finish my first semester exams while i’m in canada?

Pretty sure you must complete/pass your exams in order change schools without needing a new study permit.

hello there! you’re not sure if it’s between completing or passing?

It would be much better to show that you passed your exams and that you were a genuine student in your current school if you want to change schools without getting a new study permit. If you only recently got approved for your study permit you were likely aware of your plans to change schools while your application was still in process but didn’t update your file.

That makes a lot of sense. yes, i was aware but it was an indifferent feeling. until recently where i took into consideration the relative tuitions and the financial burden on my father

thank you very much for your input. all in all, is it doable [when i pass]?
