Hi!

I think you can change your mailing address. I'm visiting here too, stated canadian address as visiting address in census 2011 - no problem so far.

this might be a silly question:
how'd you do it? did you just state it so if you're having any mails you're just stating whoever you live with (which in my case is my bf's address)
or do i have to officially go to an office and do it?
thanks for your reply!

have you guys applied for sponsorship? if you mean you need to transfer all the mail regarding your application to your b'f address - you can do it online - just fill out the form on the embassy's website.
I think you're free to change you mailing address to whatever.

nope not yet, we haven't even lived together for a whole year yet! we're just starting but it's just how to do it and what not if you know what i mean! and i saw that to prove the common-law relationship for him to be able to sponsor me we have to live on the same address for a 12 month period

Yeah, you're right. for the mailing address - you can just declare this canadian address shared with your bf when you will fill out the forms. I don't think you need to register this mailing address anywhere officially. I think you just can start to use it to receive your correspondence to the address you wish providing it to anywhere applicable. there was census 2011 http://census2011.gc.ca/ you can fill out the forms or online and register this way. (I did, stated that I'm visiting at the time and also provided the address of my residency together with Canadian address)

I think some guru from this forum can advise more info on this topic.
