Hello everybody! can u enlighten me on this... Do we need to have an arranged emplyment first before applying? I am preparing our application papers now and still thinking about it. Btw, score is 71 :-\

According to the eligibility criteria, your application is eligible for processing if:

•you have an offer of arranged employment, OR
•you are a foreign national who has been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR
•you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the occupations listed here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list

After meeting any of these criteria you need to have 67 points, which you already have. Now you must also meet the following minimum requirements to qualify as a skilled worker:

•you have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment, AND
•your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list, AND
•you must have had this experience within the last 10 years.

For details check

yes my husband got 71 points... under 0213. I am just wondering that having an arranged emplyment will be an advantage. I have question.... as spouse(dependent) what will I put in my current occupation (Im now answering the form)? we are here in USA for 3 yrs as a dependent but I worked as RN in my home country.. maybe STAY HOME MOM?!?

Re: Can I apply without arranged employment or better to look for it before appl

you can specify 'House Wife' or 'Homemaker'. Hope this helps.

I am new here and it really helps.... question again.. what will I put in Visa office requested for the process of application for FSW... is it BUFFALO, NY?!? when i visited that site it is says there to mail my application to CIO in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada... so where will I mail my application? I am here in USA for 3yrs.

See Pahe 24 of instruction Guide

"Visa Office requested for the processing of your application: Write the name of the Visa Office which serves:

your country of nationality; or

the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country for at least one year.
Personal"

You will send your application to Sydney, NS as instructed but they will forward it to Buffalo when they are done with it.
