My wife recently gave IELTS... Her score as:- Reading 5.0, Writing - 6.0, Speaking - 5.5 , Listening - 5.0 ...Overall 5.5

We are eligible under FSWP. But the problem is main applicant needs 6 band in each....

Can we apply with NOC for PR? If yes what we need to do for NOC. Also by applying with NOC should we get PR or what it will be consider as? Please elaborate in this matter.... Help Pls!!

Hello dear sumitk12345

The condition of minimum 6.0 band (in all IELTS modules) for principal applicant is also applicable to the NOC category of FSWP. With those bands in IELTS, your wife cannot be the principal applicant for NOC category of FSWP. IELTS test must be retaken.

Yes! the application for NOC category (without arranged employment in Canada) does earn you the permanent residence status.

Hope this helps

Agreed. Your wife's score is too low to be the principal applicant. If she is going to be the principal applicant, then she needs to retake IELTS and meet the minimum score.

Hello ESZB,

Thanks for letting me know..But if for 6 band NOC is also needed.. Then what is the use of NOC..

You need to meet the NOC AND the band requirements to qualify to apply without a job offer.

Perhaps you are confusing the 2 things. National Occupation Classification (NOC) is a standard description of a profession by HRSDC for assessing your professional experience. On the other hand; IELTS Band 6 is for assessing your English language capability.

So as scylla has rightly stated above; in order to apply with out a valid job offer from a Canadian employer, you need to satisfy both criteria i.e be in an eligible NOC of FSWP and have minimum Band 6 in all modules of IELTS.
