Can I apply sowp for my husband if my study permit expires in 6 months?

I'm an international student in Canada, and my SP is going to expire in March 2018. Can I apply SOWP for my husband now? I heard the SOWP has to be longer than 6 months... I'm not sure whether it is right...
 
Did you as per your other posts already apply for your study permit extension and does your husband already have a TRV approved ?

I've extended my SP to March 2018. My husband has applied for TRV in January, but got refused. Then the agent suggested us to apply for SOWP, we did it and got refused again. The two rejections were all due to the problem with purpose of visit. Since he already changed from TRV to SOWP, we just think the only way now is to reapply for SOWP...
 
Did you apply online or offline ?

Was it through any lawyer or self applied.

I am also in the same situation but not able to take a final decision.
