Can I apply open work permit second time ? Please help !!!!

Hi, when I graduated from college in Canada I applied post graduated open work permit.It will expire in September this year so I want to extend my work permit for another year. when I answer questions to determine eligibility for the extension as a worker from CIC website. It gives me 2 options: temporary resident visa and open work permit. so I'm not sure that can I apply for another year of open work permit. My friend told me that I have to follow programs to extend my stay in Canada.

You don't qualify for an open work permit.

If you want to remain in Canada and work longer, you need an approved LMIA from your employer and will then have to apply apply for a closed work permit.

Hi, Thanks for your answer, Do you know how to register for the LMIA. My employer doesn't know anything about LMIA. Thanks alot
