Hi,

I hope some body can answer my question.Due to some financial setbacks ,I needed a job while I was studying .so I worked as an assistant cook in a college canteen and studied in evening shift for 4 years while I passed my BBA & MBA exams ,I got a job in bank in 2010 after finishing studies.I need to know can I apply for immigration as a 'cook' on the base of my previous work experience from 2004 -2009 ,where as currently im a banker since june 2010

I reside in Pakistan and would like to know if one could apply on bases of his previous job experience which differs from his current profession .

I will be thankful for any member's kind reply.

Thanks

You can apply so far as the experience is at least one year and full time and is within the last 10 years. You have to ensure that your duties (NOC 6242) reflect those listed here:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=6&val1=6242
I am sure you are also aware of the minimum 67 points eligibility. Hope it helps

Although technically you can...Though proving your Pay and proof of your Job at the Canteen would be an uphill task.
I am not sure how you will prove that you were employed at that place, and the job was paid..as no salary slips, bank statement for salary etc would exist...

ANYWAYS, no harm in trying, max you will not be accepted, better to know by applying rather than assuming.

Best of Luck.

Thanks ,Mandie .
I do have the experience but i dont have the 3 years' apprentice or any certification as a cook. Can u guide me is it a 'must have' for immigration in this category to have a certification or apprentice along with college degree? .
Tc

Shahbaz, I am not sure any certificate or anything is needed or not. BUT you will have to PROVE that you had a Job that meets the NOC job duties, and also you have to PROVE that it was Paid.....So not sure how that can be done, for a job with no record.
Regards

No Problem Bro.

Remember when applying you are the one who has to PROVE everything with documents, explanations, letters etc etc.
Consider it like a Law Suite were you are proving everything with supporting documents.

BEST OF LUCK BRO.
