Can I apply for PR from Canada if my spouse and kid are in INDIA?

I am in Canada and my family is in INDIA.I am planning to apply for PR from Canada.Is it required for my family to be in Canada to complete the process?Can they submit their passports in INDIA for PR stamping.Please suggest...

yes you can apply for PR from within Canada and it is not required for your dependents to be present in canada
