Can i apply for Open work permit?

I will be arriving at the end of July. The lawyer i mentioned is not either in law society of ontario or manitoba
My lmia is for working as food service supervisor in chevron

If your "lawyer" is saying that you will qualify for an open work permit, I would be extremely worried. You do not qualify for one and that makes me worried you are being scammed.

I am also worried as well since i was told to pay for servicr charge and work permit fee. I want to switch to another employer, and i was advised by this lawyer to apply open work permit.
The job offer at chevon is real since i got visa approved from that LMIA

Chevron is a gas station and I didn’t think they operate gas stations in Canada. What province/city? Do you have your approved closed work permit from IRCC? Log on to your account.

You are not eligible for an open work permit. Your lawyer is lying to you so don’t pay any fees.

An open work permit is impossible in your situation.

You have to ask yourself why the lawyer is lying to you. This is a huge lie. Typically when we see huge lies like this, you are being scammed.

Did you apply for the work permit yourself directly with IRCC? Or did the agency apply for the work permit for you?

Open work permit is impossible to me
The closed work permit is real. They are legit

No, the employer did not provide anything. I purchased airticket and paid for my own accomodation

There are labour laws. Cache Creek is a very small hamlet.
