Is your lawyer in canada? Check if registered as immigration consultant and whether called to the bar in your province. For example in Ontario, it is the Ontario Law Society. A lawyer may not have any idea about immigration law so your lawyer is not giving correct advice.

Cannot comment since do not know the name of your lawyer. Look up name in the law society of Ontario. You are not eligible for an Open work permit.

You’ll need to see if he is registered inManitoba. In general facebook is not a place I would recommend for finding legal representation. How long have you been working in Canada? You mention you have an LMIA? Are you a caregiver? Was this an ICT? Other type of job?

I will be arriving at the end of July. The lawyer i mentioned is not either in law society of ontario or manitoba
My lmia is for working as food service supervisor in chevron
