I have applied for a spouse open work permit. When I applied, the IRCC estimate processing time is 11 weeks, last week it was 24 weeks, and now it is 25 week. My son already got his study permit and my wife is now is Canada. I need to accompany my son as he needs me taking care of when my wife is busy. Can I apply for a visitor visa as the processing time is much shorter? My priority is to go to Canada and reunion my family.

You can try but requirements are different. You need to show funds, ties to return to home country, and travel history.
