I'm really confused and would like some advice - seniors may be able to help - about the chances of getting a temporary workers visa. These are the facts...
- I live in London with my common-law partner who is a Canadian citizen
- I have applied for a skilled worker visa (prob should've gone down the sponsorship route) but don't expect a decision to be made until at least July 2011 (slow processing times at London office)
- My partner is a primary school teacher and, for family reasons, will be returning to Canada in January - meaning we could be apart for more than 6 months!
- I am a chartered accountant (NOC 1111) currently working in London and obviously wish to work in Canada as soon as possible.
My question is whether i can apply for a temp workers visa, and obtain work in Canada (temporarily) until my permanent residence visa is finalised. I originally considered the working holiday programme but after reading around the subject learnt that this would've been rejected due to me having a Canadian common-law partner and also having an application currently in process.
Any advice would be greatfully received!!!
