Can EE BC Nominee change a job after getting EE ITA from CIC?

Hi there,

I have been searching for my case, but it was difficult to find someone with a same situation.

- I have a Post Graduation Working Permit valid till May 2017.
- Last week I received a nomination from EE BC - International Grad (BC PNP)
(Recommendation letter was prepared by my mgr)
- I will likely to receive the ITA from Express Entry under CEC this week.

Now, am I eligible to changing my jobs once I receive the ITA from Express Entry? or after receiving AOR?
Or am I bound with my current company until I receive a PR?

Any advise will be appreciated!

You are bound by the terms of the contract you have signed to get your PNP nomination with your employer. In which case I am pretty sure it's at least for 2 years, you got a full time permanent job offer so you could apply for your PNP application.

So even after receiving your PR card, you are bound to work for the same company unless you or the company terminates the contract.

I would not recommend that you stop working or change your employer during your PR process. Once you land and everything is good to go, you can talk to your company and end your contract. You have to understand with PNP you are promising the government that you are going to contribute to the province economy and you are signing the papers to stay in the province, and work for the named employer. So does your employer promises to provide you a well paid job and take care of you.

Thank you for your response! I've been hearing different opinions about job changes after receiving PNP, so wasn't sure. However, I totally agree with you about the fact that it is better to stick with the company during the PR process.

As far as I can remember, and I went through the same process, but ended up doing CEC, the company that sponsors you will need to give you a full time permanent job offer for at least for 2 years. This is as far as I can remember, and I did this in summer 2013. So rules might have changed. There should be some sort of starting date / ending date on your contract. Yes of course you have resignation options, so does your company has the rights to terminate the contract anytime under some terms you agreed upon during the process.

Have a look at your contract again. You'll find all the information in there.

Decision making is always challenging..

If I have to stick with my employer for a while, I have an option to stay in my position or apply for the controller position., but changing a job title will require additional documents and it has a higher risk of getting laid off.. and laid off means no PR lol

What would you guys do
