Can Business Analyst with 3+ yrs Project Management exp apply under NOC 0213?

Hello everyone,

I am interested in migrating to Canada under FSW program. A lil about myself, B.Tech - IT (India) + MS-IS (US) + more than 3 yrs experience as Business Analyst with a reputed organization in US. Currently on H1-B visa. However, I have worked as a Project Manager on several large cross functional projects. I started searching forum and have following questions:

1. Can i apply under NOC 0213: Computer and Information Systems Manager? My job title is Business Analysyt II but I should be able to get a letter from my HR department with project management roles and responsibilities as those are my current responsibilities and 100% genuine.

2. How does CIC determine a candidate's eligibility for certain NOC class? Offer letter or current experience letter stating roles and responsibilities? The reason why i ask this is because my offer letter has BA title whereas I can ask my HR to write project management (current) roles and responsibilities.Will that be a problem?

Seniors and experts please advise. Thanks for all your time and help in advance.

if you have performed managerial jobs and activities, your job duties match upto 70% of what is mentioned under 0213 then you are good to go.

get the letter from your employer mentioning all the job duties similar to what is expected in 0213.

yes can_am, u can apply under NOC 213 category...as far as i know business analyst do perform majority of the duties as described in the 213 category...even i'm BA and perform most of the duties laid down by the CIC...good luck wid ur case...

Hi Can_am,

My application was recently rejected under 0213. Be careful while writing your Job duties, Also mention your Business Analyst role under 0213 as i am sure you must have done some project management duties while you were doing system analysis. Job Title does not matter , the only thing you need to ensure is that your job duties are compliant with NOC 0213 duties.
