I JUST WON AN ASYLUM HEARING.I HAVE STARTED THE PROCCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY. HOW CAN I PROCESS MY BROTHER TO COME TO CANADA IMMEDIATELY FROM AFRICA.PLEASE I NEED GENUINE ANSWERS PLS

Generally speaking, your brother isn't classified as a dependent and you cannot bring him to Canada with you. He would have to apply on his own.

Are you married or do you have children? How old is your brother? Are either of your parents still alive?

Also, please don't type in all caps in the future.

Dear Scylla,
i am not married and dont hav a kid. my brother is over 40.yes parent still alive. why ask this question was becos i filled his name as part of the person affected by my asylum petition. Thank

1. one way is to have your brother apply for a TRV. he can come to Canada temporarily. --> immediate option
2. he can try to find temporary work here while he is in Africa, then apply for a work visa. this would increase his chances to get nominated someday.
3. he can enroll in a Canadian school to study, then he can apply for a PGWP that would lead to PR someday.
4. he can fall in love to a Canadian citizen or PR.

Since your parents are still alive, there is an immigration stream available to sponsor them. So you are ineligible to sponsor your brother.

.

Since his brother has already claimed asylum here, he will most likely not be able to get any type of temporary status (visitor, work or study). He would obviously just claim asylum also as soon as he got here, so any attempt to apply for one of these visas would be practically guaranteed to be rejected.

If he qualifies under an economic immigration stream to apply for PR, then that is a better way to go.

Of if he's outside home country and can get officially recognized as a refugee by UNHCR, then his brother in Canada may be able to use one of the refugee sponsorship programs.
