Can both the spouses submit their passports from 2 different locations after getting the PPR mail ?

Hi All, My AOR is 25th Jan and get to get the PPR mail. Could anyone please let me know if my husband travels to the US now and I am here in India, and then we get the PPR mail to submit our passports, how is that going to work? Can he submit his passport from the US and me from India separately? I am the primary applicant.
