Hi,
I have completed and sent my medicals in OCT, 2010 and still waiting for my PPR. My medicals will expire in OCT, 2011. I am bit concerned about the marriage issue posted by someone in this forum that one cannot sponsor spouse until completion of 1st year of PR in canada. Is this true? I am in UK and my boyfriend is in India now. I was planning to go to india and to get married there after receiving my PR card. I was thinking to sponsor my husband ASAP after going back to canada so that we can live together but now things seems to be very different. plz advise the quickest way. which will be the better way- should I get married now and add him in my application or should I wait??? We cannot wait that much long. How much is the risk involved ? What other options do we have? Moreover, he is not eligible as my common law partner as we havent lived together for a minimum of one year. Can anyone plz help me out in this matter so that we can decide further???

My friend sponsored his wife from India within 1 month after he got his PR status. This was in March 2010 so unless nothing changed you are good.

All is fine, as a PR you can sponsor him but you NEED TO LIVE physically in Canada when you do it.
