Hello everyone,

My wife and I are going to move in Calgary by August this year and I wonder if the salary offer, which is 110k a year, I had in my contract would be enough for us to live there. How much would be the net salary for that after taxes? How much is the average possible monthly expenses? I'm wondering how much can we save monthly.

Please help me on this. I would very much appreciate any input.

By the way, I had been searching the web about this but I just want to have first hand feedback from someone who has personal experience of the place.

Thank you.

By the way, is the salary (110k a year) in the minimum, average or upper in the payscale as far as average salary in calgary is concern?

Need your help guys, please. Thank you.

Hi

110K can be considered Average+ (or Upper) in Toronto. Calgary is less expensive than Toronto. Hence definitely a comfortable income..

Looking at http://www.payscale.com/research/CA/Location=Calgary-Alberta/Salary I would also say that 110 is well in the upper range but of course it will depend on your lifestyle too.

Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas..
