Is there any way I can call CIC about my application without telling them who I am??

I don't think so, but I have no file # yet, so I haven't tried.
It does say though when you call that they can not give information to anyone other than the person in the application or authorized to do so (say I'm guessing if you used a lawyer to file).

Is it a specific question in regards to your case or an open question?

Its more of an open question..I don't want to directly tell them something that may not be a big issue unless I make a fuss about it...

You can ask open questions, getting an answer may be tougher. And as mentioned you can't ask specifically about an application in progress unless it's your application and you give them your name because of privacy laws.

You can phone the call centre without giving your name and ask them hypothetical questions but the call centre agents are not always 100% accurate.

Yup, then definitely you can call and ask a "what if" situation.

If you wanted answers about your case, you'd have to give information.
Good luck with it!

I believe there's also an option to not have the call recorded, which is a less than perfect way of remaining anonymous yet still discussing your case.
