hello everyone

i am just wondering, if immigration officer calls to employer and checks the info? i am asking because my boyfriend ( he is sponsoring me) has a family business, and his Mother always answers the business phone or Dad! so i was thinking, if they call we can wait for approval next day! :) we cant wait already!

thank you

Not that I've noticed. They might call, but it seems to be rare that they would.

not under family class sponsorship....the information you provide should be enough...if not they will send back but they won't call

I also have never heard of this, i think it would be very rare.

I just cant wait anymore :( thank you. I cant understand I can log in ecas for 1 week now, but still no approval :(

The first stage is 86 days. You're only at 67 sadly. Give it the rest of the month and you should (if your case is not complicated) hear something soon.

Then why bother asking if they're not going to verify it? It seems like that would make it pretty easy to falsify your information, (say hide a long stretch of unemployment, or cover the fact you may have had problems keeping a job for more than a few months). If I knew it wasn't going to be checked I wouldn't have spent as much time tracking down dates, just gone with a best estimate.

Granted it takes away one of my worries as my employer doesn't know I'm planning to move and I'd rather they not know till I know I have the visa and when I'll be going, but it seems stupid to ask for 10 years worth of info, (when we started our application it was still "since you were 18" ) and not even check the most recent info.

They don't need to call you employer to verify your information...that is what you SIN number is for.......and your Option C printout......but I am talking about sponsor application....not the applicant's application........

LOL that makes sense then. :-[

Even if they did call your employer, and assuming you don't want your employer to know what you are planning, you could easily say they called because you have applied for a tourist visa. Most employers won't know what all this stuff is about, so I don't think it would be a problem. That said, I doubt they will call. It would be a lot of trouble, especially if they would need to call overseas. Perhaps the visa office might call, but I doubt it.

That might work. :)

I plan on telling them as soon as I know for certain I have the visa, I just don't want to out myself as the guy who plans on leaving and then either have things drag out or worse be denied for some reason. No sense hurting my situation at work until I have to.
