Hi,

I am sponsoring my spouse who is in India, and we have no children. I am not sure what it means by : "Spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner of the principal applicant, or where a transitional provision applies, a family member of the principal applicant who is 22 years of age or older".

What does transitional provisional mean? Can somebody please advise, if this applies to us.

Thank you kindly.

The transitional provision is, I assume, to do with the fact that before Aug 2014 children 22 and over could still be considered a dependant if they were in full-time school the whole time. So, that particular designation doesn't apply to you.

The total for 2 people is $1040

Sponsor application: $75
Applicant: $475
RPRF: $490

If you are in Quebec I believe the CSQ is $150 $275.
