Does anyone know if it's possible to get CAIPS notes faster than 5 to 6 weeks. I was just notified of my interview on March 30, 2011. And it seemes for early before this to request such a thing because my file wasn't even showing it was in progress. But now I am hit with this that comes in 4 weeks. So I don't know what to do.

Nope, minimum of 30 days.

Thats what I thought. Thanks for the info.

Have you asked anyone about faxing the request?
I know FOSS notes and CAIPs notes are different but they also quoted FOSS notes taking 4-5 weeks to get. However, I faxed my request and got them in like 2 1/2 weeks. Sorry I don't know much about CAIPs since I applied inland but I think it would be good to ask about faxing since they receive the request that instant and can process it sooner. Much better than waiting days or weeks in the mail for it to get there, process it, and then days or weeks to mail it back, you know?

We applied for our CAIPS mid Jan and nothing yet.

I can order CAIPS notes anytime after I submit my applications?

The issue would be that there may be hardly anything in the notes if you order them very early.

That was my problem, I thought it was early but apparently not. So you have to try and judge it so you can do it in time. I wasn't expecting an interview so soon.

So basically what you are saying is that if I order CAIPS to early it is a waste if time and money???

Well, we had our interview sprung on us with very little notice, so I was very glad that I had ordered them too early. I ordered them twice and both times, they brought us alot of peace of mind. :)

You ordered CAPIS notes "both times"? Did you have two interviews?

Also, would you be willing to explain (without personal details) how the notes helped? We are preparing for our interview in a month.

The CAIPS notes will give you an indication of why an interview was deemed necessary, so you can prepare accordingly.
My husband's CAIPS notes before the interview were very brief - just some indications that the file had been reviewed. Each time there was a short summary of the basic facts. However, the last entry before the interview was this: "Cannot establish relationship based on docs submitted. Interview is needed."

So if I had seen that before the interview, I would have known that the basic problem the VO saw with our case was that we had not submitted enough evidence of our relationship.

Thanks for that. I note that your interview was back in 2009, and no news in your signature since then. Are you still waiting?

I guess I should update my signature.
His PR application was denied in 2009, we lost the appeal in 2010, now we are waiting to reapply whenever I feel the time is right.

Not at all, if timed correctly then they are very useful.
