Is it possible to buy prescription drugs in Canada with a US prescription? I read somewhere that this is possible but I dropped by my local shopper's drugmart and they said No.

Thanks

No, definitely not possible. Some drugs that are legal in the USA aren't legal in Canada and vice versa. You will either need to get a Canadian prescription or go to a US pharmacy.

To the best of my knowledge - it's illegal.

Ah ok. Thanks.

What you can do is this.

Take the prescription to a Canadian doctor and ask them to verify with the US doctor that the prescription is completely valid. They may charge you for this. The Canadian doctor may then write a matching prescription for use in Canada. No guarantees, but this was done for my wife's great-aunt who was visiting from the US. (Having said that, it was for critical medication AND the doctor was sympathetic)

zardoz - thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.
