First off, I just want to appreciate every member in this forum easpecially Brynna and skylla for doing a great job helping others in need.
Secondly, I really want your valuable suggestions regarding my visitor visa application which i am going to apply in a couple of days.
I am on a work visa in New Zealand which will expire in March 2020. I have been living here for last 3 years. After finishing my studies here I had applied for canadian student visa in 2017 which got refused because i couldn’t provide them the proper paperwork. The refusal reasons were:
- purpose of travel
- immigration status in the country of residence

In 2018, I started travelling and been to Thailand, Europe and Qatar. Also, i have recently got the US visitor visa for 10 years.
My parents have just got their visitor visas approved from india because my uncle (dad’s real brother) and his family lives in canada.

It would be really appreciated If you guys can provide your suggestions or recommend me what to do and how to do.
I have a few questions regarding my case and want you guys to help me making a decision. My questions are as follow:

1. Should I apply from New Zealand or India? (I am able to provide the proof of employment, pay slips, ITR, everything. Just confused because i am on a work visa here).
2. In my previous student visa application I did not mention that I have a blood relative in canada and I want to mention it now to visit him. How should i mention that?
3. As my parents have got their visas, they are planning to go on the same time I am planning to go. We can say that we are going to have a family get together because my uncle’s marriage anniversary is coming.. Is it a good option to attach my parent’s visas in my application just to boost the chances?
4. I am planning to go to the US. Should I write a proper plan to visit the US and going to canada by car and having a stop in europe on my way back to New Zealand.

Thanks for taking your precious time reading this essay cum thread. Cheers

In 2018, I started travelling and been to Thailand, Europe and Qatar.
Travel to Europe (if it was to visa-required EU countries) would help. Do include a Travel History explanation for your travel to all these countries.

Also, i have recently got the US visitor visa for 10 years.
1. You can apply under CAN+ for faster processing. But, do prove your financials (even though it's not necessary) + your strong ties to both NZ and India.

2. For your TRV application, I would recommend a travel plan like NZ>> Canada>> US>> NZ

My parents have just got their visitor visas approved from india because my uncle (dad’s real brother) and his family lives in canada.
Will your uncle be inviting you?

1. Should I apply from New Zealand or India? (I am able to provide the proof of employment, pay slips, ITR, everything. Just confused because i am on a work visa here).
NZ.

You must prove your ties to both NZ and India.

2. In my previous student visa application I did not mention that I have a blood relative in canada and I want to mention it now to visit him. How should i mention that?
The same way as your uncle had invited your parents.

3. As my parents have got their visas, they are planning to go on the same time I am planning to go. We can say that we are going to have a family get together because my uncle’s marriage anniversary is coming..
Is it a milestone wedding anniversary? Evidence such as bookings for the venue, invitations, etc?

Is it a good option to attach my parent’s visas in my application just to boost the chances?
Your parents' visas will NOT boost your chances of getting a TRV approval.

You would need to demonstrate really strong ties to both NZ and India otherwise your family ties to Canada will outweigh those to NZ.

4. I am planning to go to the US. Should I write a proper plan to visit the US and going to canada by car
Broad plan for the US + flight itineraries + invitation letter from your US host..... detailed day-by-day plan with expense estimates for your Canada visit including travel to Canada, sightseeing, local travel, etc..... and you must prove you have the finances to pay for the NZ-US airfare + your Canada visit without depending on anyone.

and having a stop in europe on my way back to New Zealand.
1. Do you have a valid Schengen visa?

2. Do you have so many days of leaved approved to travel to the US + Canada + Europe? How long is your entire holiday?

Thanks for replying Bryanna. You are a legend.

Travel to Europe (if it was to visa-required EU countries) would help. Do include a Travel History explanation for your travel to all these countries.
- Yes, I went to Italy, Switzerland, Croatia. They all are visa required countries.

1. You can apply under CAN+ for faster processing. But, do prove your financials (even though it's not necessary) + your strong ties to both NZ and India.
- I thought that they don't do CAN+ in any other countries than India but now it seems like it is for Indian passports no matter where you apply from. Yes, I will provide everything along with my application. Like- My bank accounts here in NZ, IRD statements, Pay Slips and our JOINT ACCOUNT (Mine and Dad's) back in India.

2. For your TRV application, I would recommend a travel plan like NZ>> Canada>> US>> NZ
- You are genius. That is what I thought to do because it shows that you are not just coming back from Canada but also, going to another country from Canada and then coming back. Thanks for clearing my doubt Bryanna.

Will your uncle be inviting you?
- yes, they are ready to provide any document that is needed. Even I am going to get my cousin to write a letter for me stating our plans while in Canada.

NZ.

You must prove your ties to both NZ and India.
- Exactly. That is what I was thinking too but was not 100% sure how.
I can provide a copy of my work visa, my employment contact, the letters what my manager wrote for other purposes. And for ties in India, I don't know if it will work but I am planning to attach a letter or an affidavit written by my parents or relatives, my joint account with dad, proof of having a joint family back in INdia.
If there is any other document that I should or can provide which might help, please let me know.

The same way as your uncle had invited your parents.
Okay. Thanks

Is it a milestone wedding anniversary? Evidence such as bookings for the venue, invitations, etc?
No, I mentioned that just to add one extra thing about our relatives in Canada. Because I was thinking about writing this in my SOP that we are going to have a family get together on their anniversary and planning to go out.

Your parents' visas will NOT boost your chances of getting a TRV approval.
Alright. But should I attach their visas or not? Because I am so confused that they might say that everyone is going to Canada. LOL
On the other hand, it could be a positive thing that we are planning to meet in Canada.

You would need to demonstrate really strong ties to both NZ and India otherwise your family ties to Canada will outweigh those to NZ.
I can demonstrate strong ties to NZ showing my employment proof and stuff like that but really confused how should I do the same for India? Because we have some properties in India but all under dad's name.

I am guessing that I have to write that in my SOP. Now, the thing is, if I write everything in my SOP, it is going to be very long that the immigration officer might not read it and make the decision. I have read it somewhere that you SOP should not be very long and needs to be very precise.

1. Do you have a valid Schengen visa?
No, but I was planning to get one if that would help. But I do not think it is a good idea now.
2. Do you have so many days of leaved approved to travel to the US + Canada + Europe? How long is your entire holiday? I have just realized that I have talked stupid because it is a negative point if someone takes way too long leave and is on a work visa. Anyway, I am going to apply for like 5 weeks leave if that is alright? Please let me know how long should I apply for? It will be approved in one day that is why I wanted to double check first cause it is really hard to be cancelled once approved.
Also, do you think i should mention that I am going to spend like 60% of my leave in America and only 40% in Canada?
Thank you so much

@meet0700

Based on your post, you are only focusing on your employment ties to NZ.

You need to include other documents as well: Do you have a lease? If yes, when do you have to renew it? Any loans/mortgages? Any dependent family members? A good financial situation without borrowing from your parents? Financial investments? Tax returns? Any compelling work or personal reasons to return to NZ?

Documents for your dad's properties cannot be submitted. Also, for the joint bank account in India, your dad would need to give a letter to say how much of those funds are available for you to use. That said, are you able to access those funds in NZ? And, you would not want to show that you are financially dependent on your dad to pay for your visit

@Bryanna

No, I do not have any lease as I am just renting a room.
Yes, I have borrowed some money from the bank and paying back weekly. The transactions are on my bank statement.
I have $10,000 in my savings account and have Income tax return statements for last 3 years.
I do not want to show that I am dependent on him. In my opinion, being a secondary applicant of joint account, I have equal rights to use those funds as my dad have.
I do not have any family member here which is the reason why I thought about applying from India.

Don't apply for a Schengen visa just to add evidence for this trip.
Okay. I won't
My friend applied for visitor visa from India and got it approved. He was on one year job search visa here that is why I am so confused applying it from here.
I have read some other threads where people applied from New Zealand and got their visas refused and the reason was "Immigration status in the country of residence"
