Today the walk back from the mail box was a quick paced walk ...with heart beating so fast thought it was going to explode ....went in the house , shouted my hubby to come join me to open the envelope...shaking vigoursly trying to open it and read it out loud , then the dissapointing news !

We are requestion another medical ! And please call this person to discuss your dependants medicals as the London UK office has closed their file due to no correspondance from both dependants.

To add to that another brown envelope from SIRC....CSIS can take up to 11 month for security checks so please be advised they are well within the jurisdiction , However if you still want to continue you with your complaint you may do so , please send us further representations.

So after an eager phone call to local IO only to talk to an answer phone ...still waiting for a call back :( :(

Sorry to read about this, Eye!. But even though this is not what we were expecting to get, you haven't been refused.
They're just asking for another medical for you, letting you know about the dependants situation in London (their file being closed due to no response from them regarding their medicals), and also to let you know of the security background check timeframe. Your dependants are also being sponsored?.
You at least have the opportunity to continue to be together with your hubby while the situation unfolds.
Keep up the good spirits, it's not the end of the war yet.

Thanks Robrod, my dependants do not want to join me as I have stated from the start of my app, their both in relationships and have no interest to move here lol ....

I guess April will be the 11 month ending for CSIS...hey ho at least im with my hubby ;) Just dissapointed I cant fly to England for another Christmas :(

Now I confirm what I thought you had stated in your past postings... So, this is actually not bad. Dependents don't want to join you in Canada, so that file of them being closed was expected... it's yours the one that matters and you are still very much in the game...

Real sorry about you not being able to go to the UK for Xmas... I changed our ticket to now being able to be with the family for New Years in Mexico and spend Xmas together here ourselves.
I'll be glad to hear you will be going home for the holidays next year for sure as a PR!.

Oh I bet your soooooo glad this head ache is through ....bet you cant wait to see your family ...mmmm I wonder ....I know men try not to cry ....will you when you see your family ? I know I will , my daughter had a baby in July and i will want to eat him lol ....will be lovely for you to go see them in the new year ...I'm so happy for you .

Roll on April I say :D

For sure we are so glad the major headache is finished... Such an adventure we had with CIC but in the end, justice prevailed, like my wife says...
Yes, it will be nice to see the family. Just too bad that my wife is not going as she'll be on her 8th month of pregnancy...
So it's just the baby and I...
I think it will be hard to contain the tears on my departure at the Mexico City airport back to Canada... but hopefully they will be here for a visit after the birth of our second baby...

ugh... so annoying. I'm sorry. when I had asked for an extension for my visitor status and I got the envelope in the mail, I was shaking SO bad! and it was only an extension! I feel your pain :( good luck!

awww eye!. hang in there!. keep supplying them with what theywant. if they want you to re-do the medical do it..As Robrod said.. Its not a refusal. its not a no.. so thats a good thing :). As for CSIS. i see other people getting their security check in months and others in as little as weeks!!!. I hope mines is in weeks :) .

Robrod you must be excited :). Hopefully i will be next (HOPEFULLY)...

CSIS replied to me as well. they got my letter for checking on the status on October 26, they stated they started my background check on October 27? how does that make sense... once i sent them a letter they started processing it? on top of that they wrote 'Mr. instead of Mrs. or Ms. I am complaining to SIRC that they dont even know my gender and CIC told me they started the background check in September. none of this adds up. somebody is lying...

Writing to SIRC like I did gets you no where unless you have waited your 9 months for security checks as they informed me by phone , you can go ahead and write to ease your mind and they still will look at your complaint but they will advse you to wait out the 9 months.

When there are dependents involved that are not medically examined, it always seems to take longer in processing. I see you've been waiting a long time. But on the bright side, it looks like they are almost ready to approve you. They don't ask for people to spend money (like on a new medical) unless they are ready to move to the next step, which in your case would be visa issuance.

The letter from SIRC looks like a form letter. There seems to be very, very little that anyone can do about security checks. Even when challenged in federal court, CSIS's mandate of protecting the security of Canadians, outweighs everything else and they can't be compelled to speed things up by anyone. It takes as long as it takes. But it may already be done in your case or could take just a few weeks. So think positive, get the medical done and it could be just about over now.

Thank you for your input :) will do the meds again like they requested and hopefully have a chat with my local IO monday about options for the dependants as he stated in his letter ,,will let you know what the outcome is , its quite interesting this stage methinks !

AT THE TOP OF THE LETTER..the heading is . please send us this information so we can complete your application for PR.

I can't say but it's surely a possibility. What do your latest FOSS notes say? And the request for re-meds is worthy of a glass of wine or two IMHO.
