I actually called them to find out how to go about this. They advice that CIC waiting time for an appointment is 2 months however if i travelled to the states and came back (the same day) i'd get my counterfoil signed immediately but im skeptical with rgards if they'd question me with regards of my overstay.

:(

Your overstay is irrelevant, not to mention the minute you cross into the US you have automatically satisfied the overstay :) However, you are NOT going to have a problem. Go get that COPR signed stamped sealed and delivered and become a PR. If you don't want to just flagpole, make a day of it, and do some shopping or something!

Gratz!

Unfortunately unless she has a visa in her passport she can't go shopping in the states . Brits needs a visitors visa . She may be able to apply on line for one or get one at the boarder but she definitely just can't go visit the states.
