Hi,

I am requesting expert advise on the below case.

I have enough points to be qualified for ITA (EE) but when I include my wife in my application my points get reduced and so the chance of being selected. My question is, if I apply alone and get the PR and I go there then how difficult would it be to bring my family? And how long it takes to process?

Thanks!

It won't be difficult - but it will take time and it's quite likely you will have to be separated from your wife and child for a period of time.

I would assume it will take around a year to sponsor them (times vary depending on their country of origin). As a PR, you must be living in Canada at the time you sponsor them and must continue living n Canada while their application is processed. If they are from a non-visa exempt, it's also quite likely they won't be granted a TRV to visit you. So it's quite possible you may be able to visit them once or twice for 2-3 weeks - but will have to be in Canada and separated from them for the rest of the time (while the application is processed).
