Hi all!

(First time here, so if I made anything wrong don't be mad at me) ;D
I need your help, please.

I'm a son of a Canadian Citizen (I dont have my father's name, yet!) and because of things that I can't understand, my father and my mother lost contact - I had like 3 years old - and I've born outside of Canadá and, now, I found my dad!! :D Long time has passed, but he still want to register me has is son.

This way, I need your help to:
- What do I need to have, after my father register me at my born country, or what do I need to bring to Canadá to be part of a Canadian Citizenship?
- After that, I have a wife and a beautifull son (2 years old) that I would take with me if I go to Canadá, what we need to do to them have the Canadian Citizenship aswell?

Thank you for your guys time,
Any answer is a good answer... I'm a zero at this kind of things... ::)

Compliments for everybody!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Assuming your Father was born in Canada (or was naturalized before your birth), you'll need to apply for a citizenship certificate. The instructions and application are available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules/tool_34.asp

Once you have your naturalization certificate, you would be able to sponsor your wife and child. The instructions and application for spousal sponsorship is at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask additional questions as you go through the process.

Hi eL.mAriAChi

Just to prepare you, there is a very strong chance that Immigration Canada will request a DNA test to prove paternity before you can be issued with Canadian citizenship. Once you file apply for you Certificate of Citizenship, CIC would send you the information to have the DNA test done; there are specific labs that must take the samples and process them, so you must wait for CIC to request it. Once your citizenship is approved, you could then sponsor your wife and child, as explained in the above post.
