Hi All.....

Next week I'm brining my dog over the Detriot/Windsor border and am finding lots of vague information online, also can't find the official page from Canada.

When I brought him into the US I needed several government documents. I can't imagine it being that difficult but you never know.

Can anyone who's done this recently perhaps share with me what exactly I need to do? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Are you bringing the dog perminately?

I brought 2 dogs over in June. All they wanted was to know if the rabies were current. They didnt even ask for proof. I did find a page somewhere that said just current rabies info is all they require. I'd bring proof as I just may have had a lax customs officer.

He'll be permanent, but is small enough to fly on planes so he may do a trip back and forth on occassion.

Everything I've read just says rabies certificate, but you just never know!

Thanks.

Thanks.

The instructions from CFIA are pretty specific. http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/imp/petani/canin1e.shtml

Rabies certificate is all they have asked of me when I bring our dogs back and forth.

I was going to post the same link as PMM as that seems to cover the subject. I am sure it will not be a big deal.

Good luck!
