Currently, I am on my closed work permit in Canada. The closed work permit is expiring on December, 13th 2022. I have applied for the PR in May 2021 through BC PNP tech pilot(no employment restriction), AOR received and still waiting for the COPR. I heard from one of the immigration consultants that I can apply for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) even before 4 months from the expiration date of my closed work permit. Can I apply for BOWP considering my PR is still under process?. Are there any issues with doing that?
Why I want to apply for BOWP is that I want to do another job as a side hustle while continuing the current job with my current employer who supported me for BC PNP Tech Pilot Program. In my understanding, I can not do another job(side hustle) on my closed work permit. Please correct me on this and share your valuable thoughts. Thank you.
