Hi everyone,
My student visa expired on 31st of august. I had finished my degree but I had not received letter of completion yet, so I had to apply for bridge extension. I did it on 29 august. I actually received that letter of completion from the university in September but I had to wait for bridge extension to come back. Today, I received a letter saying that my visa was refused due to lack of CAQ, and that I have to apply for restoration of status. CAQ was not a part of the requirements for bridge extension and when applying online, there was no place to upload it. I talked to the university too and they said CAQ is not supposed to be the requirement for bridge extension and they will try to contact the visa office. However, at this point, I don't have a clear status. I am panicing a little bit and I am afraid that it has implications on my immigration application which I have sent separately before. I was wondering if you could tell me if there is something to do to fix it? and if it has implications on my immigration application which I have sent before? I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me whether it has been a mistake on the part of the Canadian immigration or I had to have valid CAQ for getting a bridge extension?
Thanks very much in advance

Any news on this? Same thing happened to me. I was told by an agent I did not require a CAQ. Yet my application was denied also.
