BREAK IN TRUST WITH THE CLAIMANT

Hello . I need help with this. Does anyone has an idea what this means. Just asking for a friend who is currently a refugee claimant waiting for his hearing date. Got a letter from his lawyer. Saying :
PLEASE NOTE THAT XXXX ATTORNEY WILL CEASE TO REPRESENT THE CLAIMANT IN THE FILE SINCE IT HAS BECOME IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE FIRM TO VIVIDLY REPRESENT THE CLAIMANT IN THIS. BECUASE THERE HAS BEEN A BREAK IN TRUST WITH THE CLAIMANT.
( he also sent a copy to the refugee board. Does this have any impact on the refugee hearing)

1. Well he is either going to need a new lawyer, or to represent himself.
2. It would appear that he may not have been forthcoming with his legal representative.
