Dear people read this,

My girlfriend of Brasil has been declined two times for a visitor/tourist visa to Canada. She has no tax return or residence in her name. She works in her family salon and does not have alot of money. The most recent application listed myself as being responsible for all expenses during her holiday. I would like her to come to Canada just to see what life would be like here and if it is good for us both. I am a citizen of Canada. We have been together for 3.5 years. I am looking into getting married in Brasil in order to sponsor her and have her come to Canada. I prefer to have her visit before we get married.

How can I help her come here to visit as a tourist? Do I have an option that does not include sponsorship or marriage? It would nice to see if she likes it here first before we make any major decisions in our lives, even though we are closer in our relationship to feeling ready to wed.

Your help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, the chances of getting a tourist visa for your girlfriend are extremely low. It does not look like she has strong ties to her home country. In addition to that, given that she would be going to visit you, her boyfriend in Canada, it is a high risk, to the eyes of the immigration officer, that she will remain in Canada, since no one really wants to be away from their most loved ones.
Also, unfortunately, there is nothing you can do, other than just writing a letter saying you cover her expenses in Canada - which still wouldn't be enough to convince the immigration officer that she will leave Canada at the end of her stay.
Basically the only options for your girlfriend to go to Canada would be through sponsorship, for which you can't apply until you get married or become a common-law couple.
