Hello,

I need to bother you guys again.
I applied for CEC end of August and now I need to apply for the BOWP. I thought online would be the "easiest" way but I can not even find it?
Can someone help me out? With some short step by step where to find this online application?

I also created a "MyCIC account" just recently and thought I could somehow get it there but I am lost.
There is just this "eligibility test". Am I on the wrong path or do I simply not see it?
Actually I also thought I could see there my application status but while creating it I realized that this is not the case apparently.

I tried to find answers in the forum but I couldn't. Sorry, if it is there and I didn't see it.
I appreciate every link or info as I need to get this papers done.
My current WP expires mid June and my employer just told me that they will not renew me, the "old" way.

Many thanx in advance.

And yes, you need to do the eligibility quiz, you will receive a code based on your answers that will allow you to apply online.

You need to answer the questions in this quiz:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/cometocanada.asp

FYI, when it comes to the question, you do not have a written job offer - that's for people with LMIA's.

If there is more than four months left on your current work permit, you won't be able to apply yet.

If you have any problems with the questionnaire, feel free to fire away with questions.

Oh wow,

thanx sooo much. So I was actually on the right path....it just confused me.
I am freaking out filling stuff online, afraid to do something wrong and "send" it somehow accidently, totally crazy I know, but when it comes to my residency and stuff I am a "wreck".
I am in 4 month gap already, my current WP expires 21. June 2014, so I need to take care of this.

Ok I will sit tomorrow down and work through it and for sure I will have questions.
I found the form you can send via mail but this seems to even worse and it takes longer, so I thought maybe "online" is the better choice.

Maaany thanx so far :)

The paper application is the same, except you don't need passport photos.

It does take longer to process though.

It's all a stressful time, particularly when your visa is coming close to expiring! Best of luck :-)

In any case you have to fill the EE profile?

Cause this is what I always get.

OK I filled out this Profile thing, completely. And All I get at myCIC is 2 entries under:

Continue my profile /application, not yet submitted.

Online application - continue appliction/delete application
Express entry * continue profile/delete application

Sorry to ask again but I thought I would get now somehow the selection to apply for an BOWP or any WP.
Do I need to sent it? Cause whenever I select continue my profile or continue application I do not get any step further.

:'(

Not unless something has changed very recently. I'd guess you're providing a correct answer to lead to the open work permit application. There's a few threads on some of the more confusing answers. Or you could post here what responses you're giving and we can let you know if any aren't quite right.

I have no idea what to do now.

There is nothing to select in MyCIC.
And even I would like to send my profile...no way...It is complete.
But when I'm on myCIC side I just have the options I mentioned above.

When I select continue profile it shows always for the personal details "in progress" when I go in it is completed....

I am getting crazy.

Oh jeez guys I think it was seriously me, filling this questionaire wrong....

Appologies...

My thinking was ok what do i want to do here: stay permanently and so on....

sorry sorry sorry

Trying it now again and hey I got the: You might be eligeble for an open work permit...

Ok now I have some questions just to make sure.
I found different answeres here in the forum, so I would like just to have an oppinion.

I filled out the online form IMM5710 as follows:

Question 1:
UCI -- I put the UCI number I got in my AOR

Question 3:
I am applying for one or more of the following -- "An initial work permot or a work permit with a new employer"

I have no idea if this is correct. My current employer might keep me but I do not count on that and I want to try to get a better job if possible.
It also the only checkbox which goes alone.
Later in INTENDED WORK IN CANADA I selected "Open Work Permit" and wrote in the other fields "BOWP application - Not Applicable" like it was described in another thread here in the forum.

EDUCATION
Field and level of Study -- Not sure here also. I understand that I have to write actually what I have studied and the diplome aquired? (Multimedia Design(NOC) / Trade/Apprenticeship Certificate/Diploma)

I would add here an extra document something like "Additional document to IMM5710 Education / Employment" as there is not enough space to write it. Will this be OK?

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada? -- I selected "yes" and wrote that my last work permit was renewed in June 2013.

There is a pretty big field but it is not possible to write much.

In the letter of explanation I wrote that referring to OB 485 and OB 485-A I could apply for an BOWP.
I gave my UCI number and added my AOR and current work permit.

As I am currently in Quebec but do not intend to stay here, shold I mention this also somehow? I did this in my CEC application.
The thing is, if my current employer will keep me for the next months I would stay until I get my PR.
I could try to get a job in Ontario if I get the BOWP but this would create additional costs at the moment.
I would need to sell my car (it would never pass ontario security check) and get a new one and I would need to cancel my rent contract which will also not work that easy.
I would like to wait until I am sure to get PR and then restart all at once freshly.
Do you think I should write this to explain my situation or would this just bring up problems?

Thanx in advance for your oppinions.
Oh I was not sure if I should post this in a different thread with same topic or if it's Ok in mine.

And for the "Itinerary Travel" document. Should I mention on the letter of explanation that I am since 2013 here?
Or should I add an extra document explaining that I am here and do not intend to travel. (I mean they are not talking about vacation plans I guess).

Thanx guys already 100x for reading my stuff and helping out.

Ouff, sorry guys i haven't seen that the thread provided has over 40 pages.

guess all my answers are there (started to read it all).

Sorry I am a nervous wreck at the moment...

You would think that in this day with the technology and software that has been available for years they would have an integrated system where you can log into your account, click a drop down menu and select BOWP,and it takes the information from your PR application, along with a photo.
Everything seems to be done backwards when it comes to CIC lol.

Well after a while it is not so complicate....
but when it is essential for you to make everything correct...well then.

I am always with this paperwork super nervous, I mean...it is my existence.
Sure, if I have to go back the world will still turn but I gave up everything already in my old homecountry,
building up something here always holding back with everything with the mindset that it might not work and i might have to go bak just because I filled something wrong or the person who processes my stuff has a bad day.
Le sigh ;)

It is such a big machinery and they have so much power over peoples life wouldn't it be easier also for them if the paperwork would be abit more "understandable"?
But maybe it is by purpose to see if the people really want to stay, so they take all obstacles.

Folks,

I am in the same boat. Last year I applied for BOWP online and it went smoothly. I am about to apply for BOWP extension, but I am reading here that CIC call center is telling not to apply online.

Has anyone applied for it online in the last 1-2 months and received it without any glitch / delay?

Thanks,
adipadi

My house mate got his a couple of weeks ago, having applied online. The application was processed as per the times given on the CIC website.

I'm pretty active on this forum and haven't heard of anyone getting their online application refused due to system errors/glitches.

I suspect the online process does need some maintenance (e.g. removal of the strange Travel Itinerary requirement), but I don't think there is any real issue. You'd think if there was, they would disable the online process.
