Please see my situation below -

I am in canada for the last 18 months and applied under cec on 15 sept 2014.
As soon as I get my AOR (which I expect to get this week), I plan to apply for BOWP as my current closed work permit expires on 10 Feb 2015 (I left working with this employer though last month).

I got married to a person who is a canadian PR after I applied, on 10 Dec 2014.

I intend to inform CIC about my change in status after I receive AOR.

Now I am planning to apply for BOWP this week or next week online, currently I am out of Job as well hence will be applying online to expedite things of getting the BOWP so I can start working again.

So my question is, while applying BOWP do I need to mark my marital status as married and include details about my spouse as well, as in my original PR application I marked my marital status as single and it may take time for my file to be updated with my spouse detail. If so what all extra details do I need to provide and will it effect the BOWP application?

Experts, please, let me know your views on this.

Yes, as soon as you receive your AOR, compose a letter to indicate that you have changed your status and send it to CIC to add it to your CEC application. At the same time mark your status as married on your BOWP application and provide them with documents, which I think it's not necessary for your BOWP application. But mark it as married.

Bare in mind that both application are totally different in nature, and two different officers/departments are responsible on making decisions on them. But this does not mean that you should not tell both about your status change.

Best of luck,

You answered yourself.
Answer below 2 Q
1) Which date you are going to apply BOWP ?
2) What is your marital status on the date of applying BOWP

and declare accordingly.

It does not matter if you during CEC application time you was single and got married after that ,still you need to provide earlier martial status

Good Luck

Thanks for the prompt replies, it relieves me a bit.

Just curious for my doubt, showing as married in my BOWP application will delay or effect processing times?, and if I mark myself as married in IMM5710, and check the column "Is your spouse a canadian citizen or permanent resident" as yes, what all supporting documents are needed.

Also, there is a question while applying online as, "are you accompanying a family member who has status in canada?", should this answer be no or yes in my case, as if I mark it as yes in supporting documents it asks for "Family Member Proof of Status" document.

I think I need to apply for a BOWP with marital status as married, and my marriage certificate and my spouse PR card copy along with the letter explaining my situation, please mark me correct if I need a correction here, also any negative effect that this honesty can have on my BOWP application?
