Born in Canada, wanting to study

My son was born in canada (Montreal) in 1991. He is thinking of going back to Canada to college and work. Can you tell us how the funding for further education works in Canada please?

He will be responsible for paying his tuition fees (either college or university). Universities typically have some scholarships available, typically based on marks - he would have to contact them directly to see what he might qualify for. Each province also has an educational loan program which allows students to take out a bank loan to help fund their education. The loan is interest free until the student graduates. However note that these loan programs typically require a student to live in the province for a year before they can qualify.
