I'm sorry if this was done before I couldn't find it while searching but my husband (US citizen) and I have sent in his application to come to Canada, I have received my acceptance as a sponsor and we are waiting for the other part to be processed. Now in a month or so he is coming for summer vacation and to renew medical as it expires in a few months (we got it done super early because we are noob) my worry is if they reject him at the border that we would be big trouble as far as the application is concerned so I am asking for advice. What should we bring with us when crossing? We pick him up in the US and bring him across the border with us, us being my family and I, he has a job in the US, he rents a room so no property owned, he has a car registered in his name in the US we could bring proof of that, we could also provide them with a copy of my sponsorship acceptance letter. He is coming for 3 weeks and we will have his return flight booked. Do we need to worry? What should we bring?

All you have to do is say he's visiting. As for the medical, I'd wait to see if CIC is going to want a new one. They will most likely extend his medical, especially if he's young and healthy.

When my husband crosses he brings his apartment lease, pay stubs and his car insurance. He hasn't been asked for any additional documents other then his passport in 3 years. He just brings them just in case!

He crosses by car as well. And I've picked him up a few times and crossed with him and there have been no issues.
