hi all
My initial application has been received by CIO on 31st March 2010. i have done a litttle mistake in filling a form. Actually i have my son age 2 years old. i have left blank space in his qualification, Passport Number and native language. i have mentioned his status non-accompaninig. can blank space be a problem for my application? i am waiting for my first AOR.

Unfortunatly, leaving a blank space in the application forms will result of getting your entire package back unprocessed with an explanation letter from the CIO highlighting the mistakes you have done to fix them and resend your application.

Good luck.

thanx 4 reply. but i would like to say that my old application is also in process. in my that application i left blank space of my spouse native language and passport number but my application was accepted by local visa office. i applied in 2006. now what do u say?

Dear Asif

I can not speak for your old application, but recently I have seen on forum that anybody who has left a blank field in forms have been asked to resend the application.

So i am afraid that there may be a issuse here

Actually that is not my personal opinion, it is what written exactly on CIC website:

"Complete all sections. If any section is not applicable to you, write “N/A” (“Not applicable”). If your application is incomplete it will be returned to you, and processing will not begin. Do not leave any blanks."

The source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

Page number: 22 ( at the end of the page).

Regarding your old application, i have no comments about it. It might have happened by mistake or they have not noticed the missing space at the time when they were doing a paper screening for the application. At this stage of your old application they might ask you to resend that page of the application form when they find out the error.
