Quick question, my spouse lives in the Russian Federation. The country at her time of birth as everyone knows was known as USSR. What country of birth/nationality do I put in?

Form: IMM1344EA Section C, Part 1

Country of Birth: USSR
Country of nationality (if different from country of birth): Russian Federation

I want to put Russian Federation for both.. the application will be processed in Moscow and I'm sure they would be ok with both.

What's everyone's opinions?

What does it say on her passport? Use that.

If she was born in Russia, then her country is Russian Federation. If she was born in a former soviet state other than Russia, then that country is her place of birth
