Do we require birth certificate for Express Entry? And what if you don't have one?

Your birth certificate, no.
If you have dependent child in your application, then child's birth certificate is needed.

What about alias name? My passport doesn't have an alias then do I need to have an alias name for police clearance? I think my birth certifcate has and a very old cancelled passport.
