How can I put my name in my daughter’s birth certificate if I am not with my wife when she deliver our daughter in October?


My girlfriend is now in Canada and she has no idea how will she be able to put my name in the Birth Certificate.


Do I need to sign a form?

Does she need to send the form thru mail (DHL etc.) or she can just send a scanned copy thru email?


We’re planning to get married in December but her due date is in October.


I can’t travel to Canada by the time she delivers as I am also renewing my visa from another country.

What province? She should be able to put your name down on the document the hospital gives her. But maybe you will be there when she registers the birth. The b.c. comes in the mail.
