Birth Certificate requirement

Is birth certificate required for Citizenship application or issuance of Canadian Passport.
We are landed PR for 5 months.
CIC had accepted affidavit and 10th certificate for DOB for PR application.

My case is the same i also dont have a birth certificate. Can i use an affadavit. And what do we have to state on affadavit to get PR from India?

I think now there is no requirement for uploading birth certificate in Express Entry system.

Did process your file last year? Was it manadatory then?

Yes it was required till FSW 2014 not for EE
