Birth certificate for canadian PR

Is birth certificate very important for pr application or can I submit my passport copy instead.
If possible can someone share with me the link to the list of documents required for applying for canadian pr as an indian citizen.

You don't need to submit the birth certificate unless they ask for it. They rarely ask for a birth certificate for the primary applicant, though they may ask for a child's birth certificate.
