Birth Certificate and Translation

Hi All,

Need some help. For providing proof for 'Sister Relationship' a birth certificate needs to be submitted. But the birth certificates that we have are in Hindi language. Will these work? If not, what is the workaround? Do we need to get these translated? Or do we need to submit an affidavit?

If the documents are not in English or French, they have to be translated in either of those two languages. If the translation is done by a certified translator is a member of a translation society and is in good standing then a affidavit is not needed.

Thanks so much for the response. Another query that I have is that I am the primary applicant and I will be submitting all the required Reference Letters for my work ex as per the NOC requirements. Do I have to submit REFERENCE LETTERS for my wife's past job experiences as well? It may be a bit tough to procure the same as she had worked in small scale organizations. What are the alternates?

One key principle is that if IRCC doesn't require the document, don't provide it. If they do ask for document regarding your wife's work history and you can't provide a employer reference letter, then provide Pay stubs and tax records along with a letter of explanation which states clear of your situation.
