Biometrics extension help!

Hi,
So I have applied for my Dad’s visitor visa online and I got a message regarding Biometrics from IRCC which has a deadline of 30 days. Due to covid lockdown in India, Biometrics are taking longer and he got the appointment after 30 days. I have submitted a webform asking for an extension but it has been 2 weeks and haven’t heard back from IRCC yet.
1. Will the VAC still allow for Biometrics with the deadline passed in BIL?
2. When will I hear back from IRCC? Has anyone else gone through asking the extension for Biometrics?
