Okay, so as it turns out - thankfully - you are correct. I called IRCC, and at the same time my wife emailed the Warsaw office. They confirmed that once a PR application is closed, the biometric info is automatically unavailable, but has no bearing on her entering Canada. They trouble is that they don't explain that, so we had a bit of a panic. Thank you for responding, and for trying to set my mind at ease. I appreciate it.

I was just looking at your timeline, and it is similar to ours in that you got your pre-arrival about a week before my wife got hers. Are you moving to Montreal, or elsewhere?

We are in Montreal right now. As I told you above, my wife is here on TRV.

I hope you're right.
We uploaded her application last February. It was finally closed, and passports received, this week.

He is right. There is no fingerprint verification at border, the biometrics info is not on the copr, this is a complete red herring. My guess is that when IRCC finalizes the data in the system when visa issued, they simply zero out some fields/flags in the tracker (not the biometric file which is shunted to some computer equivalent of Garbage Mountain) - because they are not relevant any more.

I warn that if you decide to call IRCC (completely unnecessary), there is a relatively high probability that the call centre agent will have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and will themselves have to ask someone else (who probably won't know either etc) and this will make some kind of noise before they can ever find someone who knows enough to confirm that this is a wild goose chase. This field is irrelevant when the copr and visa are issued and no-one except you and your spouse ever bothered to even look at it.

[editadd: I see I posted after further updates, glad the callcentre/or warsaw people were able to confirm ... basically exactly what I said.]

It's not irrelevant at all! It would be enough to send her back if her fingerprint info is outdated! It's supposed to be valid for 10 years!

First parts - not true. Biometrics data - sure, will be retained and 'valid' (although won't be at all relevant after she lands). Them changing a flag doesn't make the data disappear, they just removed the flag indicating it was given when no longer relevant.

Thank you. We got to the bottom of it.

Yeah, sorry I missed the last few posts.

Congrats to you and your family. I've been to Chelyabinsk. I don't think your spouse will be too surprised by Montreal winter (although may find it damper, like people moving from Calgary to Montreal).

Yeah, we laughed when one of the videos IRCC sent her said something like "You'll want to get a warm jacket." Like, Russia knows harsh winter! LOL
