Hi

I live in Iraq and I applied for skilled worker visa recently. Then I received Biometric Instruction Letter in my name (main applicant), but my wife who will come with me and escort me to Canada did not receive a Biometric Instruction Letter in her name.

I contacted a biometric center in turkey where i should go and provide my photo and biometric data there. They told me that your wife need a Biometric Instruction Letter in order to take her biometric data and photo, otherwise they can not take it.

My wife did not submit any application, but i mentioned her in my application.

So Please advice on what to do next as soon as possible since I only have less than one month where my Biometric Instruction Letter will expire.

Kind Regards

1. If she didn't apply for a TRV (mentioning her in your application is not applying) then she won't be issued a TRV, so need for biometrics for her.

Thank you very much for your response, but what kind of visa should I apply to her in order to bring her with me and live permanently in Canada with me.

Thank you again for the help

Did you include her in your application? If not, why not?

Sir

Have you submitted her application fee , along with set of forms that were required to be filled and signed by her.?
If not , drop email to your Visa Office , and request them that you wish to bring your wife with you as "Accompanied Applicant" , to canada , they will advise you entire procedure

Stay Blessed

Well I did not submit a separate application for her, because I do not know what kind of application I should submit to her.
Please can you give the Email of the visa Office to send them an Email and tell them about my case.

Thank again for helping me

Finally we have an answer, you never applied for a TRV for your spouse as suspected. Sending an email is not going to do anything. Your spouse is going to have to apply for a TRV in her own name, with all the required documents.

I disagree.

OP applied for PR via FSW, he doesn't want a TRV for his wife, he wants PR for her too.

OP, you need to tell us exactly what forms and documents and information you supplied about your wife in your application. Did you list her as accompanying you, or not accompanying you? Did you pay a fee for her or only for yourself?

If you want her to live with you in Canada you needed to list her as accompanying you and pay a fee for her. If you did this she is an applicant along with you, even though she made no separate application. In this case maybe they don't want a biometric letter for her, maybe just for you.

If you didn't list her as accompanying and pay a fee for her, but you actually want her to accompany you, you need to make this change to your application with your visa office immediately.

It's not clear to me what your actual situation is. Either way, I suggest you contact the visa office using the information they have supplied you (if they have communicated with you via letter or e-mail you can see the way to contact them) and clarify exactly what you want and whether any change to your application is required. DON'T assume you can bring your wife later. If you were married at the time of your application and you do not give them the proper information about your wife before you obtain PR it may be difficult or impossible to bring her with you. Contact them and clarify. Leave nothing to chance!

Thank you very much for your care about my case

I will explain every thing of what I did to apply:

1. I filled the the online eligibility questionnaire and show me the results that I may come to canada.
2. I open a new account in CIC and linked the questionair to my account.
3. I filled application form IMM1295E, this form asked me if (i am married or else, date of marriage, family name and full name of my souse) and that is it.
4. I submitted (filled IMM1295E form , My Academic Transcript, My Photo, My Passport, and additional letter containing some notes about my professional certifications).
5. Then payed the fees for biometrics and the skilled workers form.

Note: I remember in the questionnaire asked me if your are coming with spouse who will study or work in Canada (I do not remember the exact question), and I answered Yes

I was not asked about my spouse only the above questions, nor I was required to provide any another application. what I submitted is what was required from me.

then I received the biometric instruction letter for me only

I really appreciate your valuable help

thank you

Here is the exact question in the questionnaire and I answered it Yes

Will you be coming to Canada with a spouse or common-law partner who is, or will be, working in Canada as a temporary worker or who is, or will be, a full-time student at a university, community college, CEGEP or other authorized educational institution?
Yes

Another Question I was asked and I answer no is

Do you want to submit an application for a family member?
No

I assume that this application is for a family member with another case than my case, what I understood that if i have a family member who need to work or visit Canada no t as accompanying member. if i answer Yes it will ask about the purpose of visit as follows which non of them apply to my wife as accompanying spouse :

The question is:
Why is your family member visiting canada ?

Visit tourism
Visit-all other types
Less than six month studies
work in a work permit excepted category
Work (labour market opinion required)
Work (Other)
Transit

Non of these selections apply to my wife since she will be accompanying me with permanent residence.

That is why I answered No

So maybe this is why they did not include her or may be another thing.

I do not know.

From your description and the form you filled out, it seems that you are applying for a temporary work permit, NOT permanent residence, am I correct?

This sub-forum is focused on people applying for permanent residence through the Federal Skilled Worker Program. There are other sub-forums on this site for temporary workers.

I don't mean to say that we don't want to help you because you are posting in the wrong forum, but I personally don't know anything about temporary work programs and how to make sure your spouse can accompany you when you are on a temporary work permit. So I suggest asking people who are familiar with that category.

Well I am confused now. I strongly suggest you contact your local visa office to work through this so you do not run into a problem later.
