Hello everyone,
please i am new to this forum and need an advice. I seek asylum as a bisexual man and i have a son with my girlfriend back home before seeking refuge here in Canada. i got my PR 3yrs ago and got married to my son`s mother (my girlfriend) in another country last year and they are desperate to join me as am desperate to have them here to start a family. my question is can i sponsor them to join me here? will my sexual orientation deprive me of having my family here? i mean will my being a bisexual be an issue to my sponsorship. how do i go about it. thanks.

Did you declare that you had a female partner and child in your app?

because we were not married then and there was no option for girlfriend in the application but i mentioned our son in the application because there was an option for a child. though in my asylum story i mentioned my girlfriend ( then) that we are dating and had a child together, (submitted a picture of us as a prove).

no we don`t live together because we were not yet married before i claimed asylum.

You don’t actually have to get married before you live together. Yes you sponsor your wife and child. There will definitely be extra scrutiny on your file based on your asylum application.
